The Community Action Agency of Western Connecticut provides social services and programs directly and through partnerships to vulnerable and low-income individuals, families and communities in Western Connecticut to help them achieve self-sufficiency and to improve their lives. Since 1965, The Community Action Agency of Western Connecticut (formerly The Committee of Danbury (CACD)) has delivered a variety of social service programs ranging from early childcare to elderly fuel assistance in order to help low-income families and individuals with their ever-changing needs to reduce poverty and enable clients to achieve self-sufficiency. CAAWC is an integral part of a nation-wide network of Community Action Agencies (CAAs) dedicated to the take of eliminating poverty. Asa non-profit multi-faceted organization, CAAWC provides a wide array of services to clients in towns in Fairfield and Litchfield counties. These towns include: Bethel, Brookfield, Bridgewater, Canaan, Cornwall, Danbury, Darien, Greenwich, Kent, New Canaan, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, North Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Salisbury, Sharon, Sherman, Stamford, Warren, Washington, Weston & Wilton.
